Adopt-A-School Partnership

The mission of the SCAASP is to impact the lives of children and the communities in which they live by enhancing the quality of public education in partnership with area schools to establish positive relationships through Sandusky Area Churches, their members, and it’s resources.

CAUMC has “adopted” Mills Elementary School. The Partnership would like to have our church be involved with 3 to 4 activities at the school. We have already attended their Open House, and one person is volunteering in a classroom. We hope to involve more members as classroom volunteers. Volunteers working with children must go through the fingerprint process, which is provided at no charge by the Sandusky City Schools.    SCAASP is also providing mentors for students at Adams Middle School. The mentors are trained by Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

To learn more about this partnership, the monthly meetings are held at the Nehemiah Center (former Campbell School) on the fourth Monday of each month at 6 pm. You can also call Rosalyn Shepherd at 567-219-1447.

CAUMC is very involved with missions. As a church we support multiple organizations which include UMCOR, World Vision, Compassion International, Victory Kitchen, Crossroads, Care and Share, Salvation Army, Sandusky churches adopt a school program, CROP Walk, Yost Mission, The Village and Grace Place.
